Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you buy from the Akshara Jewellers online store at shopakshara.com.au. The seller is Akshara Jewellers Pty Ltd (ABN 55 621 099 545). Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Your account
You need an account to order. Please give us accurate details and keep your password to yourself — orders placed from your account are treated as yours. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and call us.
2. The pieces
Every piece is one of a kind and is photographed as it is. The main photo is always the piece itself; any photo showing it being worn is marked as AI-styled and is for illustration only. Colours can look slightly different on different screens. The gold weight shown is the weight from the piece’s tag and does not include stones. Stone weight is shown separately and is never charged for.
3. Prices
Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. They are worked out from the piece’s gold weight and our 22kt gold rate, which we set each business day, and are rounded to the nearest dollar. Because the rate moves, the price of a piece can change from day to day until you order.
4. Mistakes in prices or descriptions
We take care to get prices and details right. If a price or description is clearly wrong because of a mistake — for example a typing error — we’ll contact you before we accept payment, and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel with a full refund of anything you’ve paid.
5. Placing an order
When you press “Confirm order”, the price shown is locked for you and the piece is held for you and no one else. I understand that confirming this order is legally binding. Payment must be received within 48 hours or the order will be cancelled. A cancellation fee of $100 may apply.
We’ll show you our bank details and your order number straight away and email them to you. If your payment hasn’t reached us within 48 hours, the order is cancelled and the piece goes back on sale. If you need to cancel, please call us as soon as possible.
6. Paying
We accept bank transfer only. Please use your order number (for example AJ-1001) as the payment reference so we can match it. Your order is paid when the money reaches our account — not when you send it — so allow for your bank’s processing time. We don’t accept cash or card payments for online orders.
We will never change our bank details by email, text or phone. If anyone asks you to pay a different account, don’t pay — call us on (02) 8606 2366.
7. Delivery
We deliver within Australia by insured courier for $20, with a signature required. We can’t deliver to PO Boxes or parcel lockers. We send your piece once your payment has arrived, and email you the tracking details. The piece is yours once you’ve paid in full, and it’s our responsibility until it’s delivered to you.
8. Click & collect
Collection is free from Harris Park (59A Marion Street, Harris Park NSW 2150) and Riverstone (56 Garfield Road East, Riverstone NSW 2765). We’ll contact you when your piece is ready. Please bring photo ID that matches the name on the order — we won’t hand a piece to anyone else without your written permission.
9. Returns and refunds
No change-of-mind returns or refunds. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Every piece is one of a kind and priced on the day’s gold rate, so please choose carefully — you’re welcome to book a viewing first.
If your piece is faulty, isn’t as described, or arrives damaged, contact us straight away. We’ll repair, replace or refund it as the Australian Consumer Law requires. If we refund you, we’ll pay it back to the account you paid from.
10. Invoices
This is an order confirmation, not a tax invoice. If you need a tax invoice, ask us and we’ll give you one.
11. Our responsibility
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those guarantees, and as far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as loss of profit or opportunity, arising from your use of the website.
12. The Gold Scheme
The Gold Scheme is opened in person at our showrooms and has its own terms, which we give you when you join.
13. Your privacy
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.
14. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time. Your order is covered by the terms on this page when you placed it. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
